Barbados Tax Treaty Network
Barbados is a small jurisdiction but has always considered it important to be reckoned as a member of the international family of Nations. One of Barbados' first acts as an independent nation was to join the United Nations. At the regional level Barbados is a member of CARICOM.
In more recent times Barbados has participated in the negotiations at the World Trade Organisation and became a member in 1994. Barbados is therefore a party to modern agreements such as the agreement with respect to intellectual property rights.
In addition to this Barbados has an active treaty programme and has negotiated Double Taxation Agreements with Austria, Botswana, Canada, Caricom, China, Cuba, Finland, Ghana, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles,Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA. The agreement with Luxembourg is waiting to be ratified.
